On November 24-26, 2008 UNICOM Microsystems Ltd. hosted a seminar/training on “Building up nets/ systems with LonWorks technology”. The training was co-organized with Echelon Corporation and was conducted by Mr. Marc Buckland. The event took place in Interpred World Trade Center – Sofia. Experts in building management systems, HVAC designers, designers of electric installations, specialists in lighting control, building engineers, consulting companies in the field of energy efficiency and specialized companies in the field of data collecting and distance management attended the event.

The attendees had the opportunity to get study in details the complete LonWorks network design process, including choosing components and architecture, installing and configuring the network, optimizing network resources, and maintaining and documenting the network.

During the training attendees gained knowledge and practical abilities for successfully design, implement and maintain a LonWorks network and some of them found decisions for their business.

On June 19, 2008 UNICOM Microsystems Ltd. hosted a seminar on “The LonWorks® - Platform for control and energy management”. The event took place in Interpred World Trade Center – Sofia. Experts in building management systems, HVAC designers, designers of electric installations, specialists in lighting control, building engineers, consulting companies in the field of energy efficiency and university lecturers attended the event.

The seminar presented the wide range of applications of LonWorks technology in controlling of road tunnel lighting systems, central fault monitoring systems, building automation and street lighting systems.

The accent in the presentations was set on the latest edition to the i.LON family of Internet servers of Echelon – the i.LON SmartServer that was presented by Mr. Mark Buckland, Echelon UK. “The server extends the LonWorks building automation systems. It combines a programmable IP server and a system controller that makes it easy to develop and deploy energy management and control solutions for buildings, managed street lighting systems and remote monitoring and control of equipment from any global location”, commented Mr. Buckland.
